December
2007
Dear Friends,
In the last quarter (September through November
2007), we resumed our seminars with Ananda Acharyas
Deborah and Claudio Gregorelli. Our first stop was
Ahmedabad, where we were warmly welcomed by a group
of natural healers, many of whom expressed interest
in meditation and the spiritual path. On 15
December, we are planning two seminars in Rishikesh
and Dehradun with our friend, Stan Giles, who is
living in the Rishikesh area until March, 2008 and
will help promote the essences while he is there.
For details on these seminars, check our website.
This quarter, we will begin to explore possibilities
for combining our essences with essential oils, such
as those used in aromatherapy. These two approaches
to well-being are very compatible, and we see the
potential for some new products such as fragrant
sprays and scented candles, combined with essences.
In this newsletter, we are happy to share the
contributions of two dear friends.
*Especially for flower essences practitioners,
Liladevi Stone has provided a clear comparison
between Spirit-in-Nature Essences and the Bach
flower remedies. Dr. Bach’s emphasis was on
overcoming certain negative states of mind with
specific essences. Spirit-in-Nature Essences,
rather, focus on stimulating and enhancing positive
psychological and spiritual qualities. Both
approaches are valid, and in the chart below,
Liladevi shows parallels between the two systems.
*We have two articles by Stan Giles about his
experiences in working with flower essences.

Encounters with
Flower Essences
—by Stan Giles (part 1)
I first encountered flower essences as a patient. I
had been suffering from depression, and went to see
a lady who did some energy work with me and gave me
flower essences to take. Later that day, I had a new
feeling of energy flowing through me—a feeling of
being centered, which I now think was energy flowing
more freely through my astral spine. After a second
treatment and more essences, I felt better than I
had in more than 2 years. Having been a nurse for
over 25 years, I thought, “All these years that I
was working in the health field, nobody ever told me
anything about energy work and flower essences.” I
knew that I wanted to learn more, and soon I started
a 3 year training program in kinesiology. We often
used flower essences to clear energy blocks or
emotional trauma. Sometimes they were part of the
treatment session and sometimes they were given to
patients to take at home for one or two weeks.
Two people in two separate rooms
tested Surekha, one with the pendulum and the other
with muscle testing. Both results confirmed Apple
essence. Both are accurate and effective ways of
choosing the appropriate flower essence.
A Vibrational Parallel by
Liladevi Stone
According to Liladevi, if we understand flower
essences, or flower remedies as they are sometimes
called, as a unique language of healing, we may view
the different lines of essences as dialects. Each
essence has a singularly distinctive vibration.
The following chart presents parallels between
Yogananda’s Spirit-in-Nature Essences and the Bach
Flower remedies. For example, Almond Essence can be
compared to both White Chestnut and Wild Oat. For
those who are familiar with the Bach remedies, and
want to understand Yogananda’s Spirit-in-Nature
remedies better, this chart can help in your choice
of essences.

Encounters with Flower Essences
I have been working
extensively with flower essences for more than 12
years and have also, on occasion, made essences
myself. One question people ask is, “What determines
the effectiveness of a flower essence?” To some
extent, this depends on where, and by whom, they are
made. There are many different essences made in
different parts of the world. The first essences I
used, when I was studying kinesiology in Scotland in
1995, were a line made in Australia by a naturopath
and healer named Ian White. They have a more
masculine quality, reflecting both the energy of the
Australian continent and that of the person who made
them. A few years later, “by chance”, I met a
wonderful lady who was making essences in Britain
and I started using her line of flower essences.
Through the use of muscle testing, I found that my
clients in the UK needed these essences much more
frequently than they did the Australian essences.
Because the essences were made in the UK, they
tended to resonate more with both the land itself
and the psyche of the people living there. So the
power and effectiveness of flower essences is a
reflection of their source—physical, emotional and
geographical. But the most important factor is
the spiritual source of the essences.
Stan
Giles is a Kriya Yoga practitioner and a
Kinesiologist. He has been working extensively with
flower essences since 1995 as well as teaching about
energy medicine since 1997. For more information you
can visit his website
www.karmaclear.com or phone him at +91 99586

March 2008.
